Westbury’s Picks – Crafted: Makers of the Exceptional

The latest in our Westbury's Picks series

At Westbury Garden Rooms, we have been designing and building bespoke timber glazed garden buildings for over twenty five years. We take pride in the quality of our workmanship; all our projects are architecturally driven and we ensure that they are the best they can be in terms of style, ergonomics and build quality.

This month we have chosen ‘Crafted: Makers of the Exceptional’ for our regular feature. This stunning exhibition celebrates some of Britain’s most talented craftsmen, focusing on the truly unique, genuinely bespoke ‘work of art’ products that they create.

Taking place from 3rd – 5th April, the exhibition brings together those elite craftsmen who have been supported by Walpole British Luxury through the Crafted mentoring programme, and provides a glimpse into the inner workings of Britain’s finest craft businesses – from knitwear and jewellery to lapidary and glass blowing.

Held in association with Vacheron Constantin, one of the world’s oldest and most respected manufacturers of luxury Swiss timepieces, it’s free of charge and open to all.

The artisans’ workshop spaces are recreated in The Royal Academy, London, and tell the story behind each stage of the craft-making creative process – from raw material to finished work. The focus is on the people as well as the products with live demonstrations and chances to meet the makers.

The exhibition’s theme for the expertly crafted is perfectly in line with our own ethos, and that’s why it is our pick of the month.
