Westbury undergoes major investment programme

Further measures to reduce the company's carbon footprint

Westbury Garden Rooms Ltd & Westbury Windows & Joinery Ltd, has undergone a major investment programme aimed at improving efficiency, increasing capacity and drastically reducing the company’s carbon footprint.

The privately owned company, which was founded over twenty years ago, has relocated to larger premises which boast impressive showroom facilities, as well as considerably expanding production capabilities.

New machinery
A further investment has been made in to the latest Conturex joinery profiling machinery, making Westbury one of only three companies in the UK to use this system. The Conturex, designed for solid wood processing, caters for multiple complex joinery work pieces including sawing, milling, drilling, sanding and contouring, effectively doing the work of five machines in a single cycle with maximum precision and flexibility. This means the amount of man hours are minimised whilst ensuring every component of each product is produced to incredibly precise standards, making the manufacturing process faster and more accurate.

The accuracy and efficiency of the Conturex alongside Westbury’s preferred use of engineered woods (as opposed to solid hardwood such as Oak) minimises wood waste, therefore reducing the company’s and its clients’ carbon footprints.

In addition, Westbury has also launched a new website (www.westburyjoinery.com) dedicated solely to the joinery business. It will provide developers, builders, architects and homeowners with detailed specifications of all of the standard and bespoke products within the company’s roof lantern, window and door ranges.

Jonathan Hey, managing director commented: “Despite adverse economic conditions, we’ve gone from strength to strength by staying focused on our customers’ needs. This latest investment allows us to extend our commitment by ensuring that we can cater for the most exacting requirements whilst improving our quality and efficiency, factors that we pride ourselves on. We’ve worked hard to build a strong reputation and are excited about our prospects in the future.”

Westbury Garden Rooms
Westbury Joinery’s sister company has also undergone significant changes: Westbury Conservatories, the designer and manufacturer of bespoke garden rooms, orangeries and pool houses has announced a change of company name, to Westbury Garden Rooms effective from 1 November 2011.

The change is a reflection of its understanding of an evolving market place (particularly within bespoke extensions), marking a significant departure from the company’s beginnings over twenty years ago. Today, Westbury is renowned for its beautiful garden rooms and orangeries, which make up the majority of the company’s business.
