For the first time, private hospitality event Salon Privé will be merging with Blenheim Palace Classic & Supercar Day, resulting in the ultimate four-day luxury motorcar garden party set against the backdrop of ‘Britain’s Greatest Palace’, Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire.
If you’re a car enthusiast, collector, or owner then this event will be sure to delight and inspire you; with the finest collection of supercars, hypercars, and classic cars, along with a lavish retail village and exquisite restaurants.
Originally, Salon Privé consisted of three private entertainment days hosted on the South Lawn of Blenheim Palace, with a separate Blenheim Palace Classic & Supercar public day held across the Great Court and surrounding North Lawn. This year will see the two separate events combine, with Concours d’Elégance held on Thursday 5th September, Ladies Day held on Friday 6th September, Bentley Masters held on Saturday 7th September, and Salon Privé Classic & Supercar held on Sunday 8th September. For anyone in the prestige automotive sector, it’s the place to go and entertain customers, meet new contacts and rub shoulders with some of the world’s most prolific car collectors and buyers.
What to expect at Salon Privé
2019 has an exciting line-up indeed! Rimac Automobili, based in Croatia, will be presenting the Rimac C_Two. With a top speed of 258 mph (412 km/h), a zero to 60mph time of 1.85 seconds, and a zero to 100 mph (161 km/h) time of 4.3, it’s the fastest accelerating, most exciting, and most technologically-advanced hypercar ever-built. Other manufacturers who will be showcasing their latest models are the Alpine A110S, Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante, Bentley GTC V8 and Flying Spur, Ferrari 812 Superfast and Portofino, Lamborghini EVO Spyder and Coupe, Maserati V8 Levante Trofeo, McLaren GT, and Porsche 992 Carrera 4S all on the lawn.
It’s been confirmed that the stunning, limited edition Rolls-Royce Ghost Zenith will be making its European debut at the show, celebrating the very best of automotive artisanship with only 50 cars being made available. Back in 1908, it was the Silver Ghost that made Rolls-Royce a big name, and 100 years later the 200EX was shown at the Geneva Motor Show.
The original 200EX concept was designed to be both driver and passenger focused, and no other model merges performance and innovative driver experience with luxury in the way that Ghost does. You’ll see that the Ghost Zenith Collection retains the car’s dynamism while taking extravagance to a new level. There are plenty of references taken from 200EX, but the most significant is the inclusion of a commemorative ingot, made from the original concept’s Spirit of Ecstasy, but melted down and set into the centre console.
At the Concours d’Elégance on Thursday 5th & Friday 6th September, an exquisite pair of coach-built Rolls-Royce and a stunning Ferrari, all with documented Royal provenance, will grace the manicured lawns of Blenheim Palace. This includes a Silver Wraith Rolls-Royce which was the car used by Prince Rainier of Monaco for his wedding to Grace Kelly on 18th April 1956.
Celebrating 100 years of Bentley
Another highlight to experience are the celebrations for the centenary of Bentley Motors. Privately owned Bentleys from across the globe will be joined by some iconic models from the Bentley Heritage Collection, including the oldest surviving Bentley – an EXP2 from 1920. On Saturday 7th September, the Salon Privé Bentley Masters will be a remarkable celebration of the marque with a collection in excess of 60 of the rarest models spanning every decade of the Bentley marque’s history located on the South Lawn and set against the spectacular backdrop of Blenheim Palace. A panel of judges will select winners across a variety of categories with awards presented at the end of the day by Bentley Motors Chairman and Chief Executive, Adrian Hallmark.
Sunday 8th September will see the Bentley Drivers Club host its Annual Concours d’Elegance and the world’s largest-ever gathering of Bentleys on the North Lawn. Spend the afternoon looking at 1,000 Bentleys, stretching around the stunning Capability Brown-designed lake. With Bentley motor cars coming from throughout the UK, Europe, and the USA, it will be a truly international celebration.
Blenheim Palace is located in the majestic old English town of Woodstock, just eight miles north-west of Oxford on the A44 Evesham Road. Tickets can be purchased at salonpriveconcours.com/buy-tickets/
