‘Discover design with distinction’ – we look at the new pieces from independent interiors brand Atkin & Thyme

When it comes to independent interior brands, Atkin & Thyme is a true gem. They specialise in fine furniture and home accessories, and their website is a beautiful curation of pieces their team have handpicked from artisans across the world. They specifically work with crafters who only produce limited, low-volume batches, so often customers have to pre-order to avoid disappointment.

The range of pieces at Atkin & Thyme is broad, with plenty of chic sideboards, drinks cabinets and coffee tables to be discovered. Their collections often channel the glamour of the art-deco era, with curved shapes, standout velvet upholstery and brass structures. They certainly don’t shy away from pattern and detail, and A-list interior designers such as LA-based Kelly Wearstler are firm fans.

Atkin & Thyme have plenty of coffee table and side table designs with glass tops, which can look fantastic in a bright, light-filled glazed extension. If you’re considering a glazed extension such as a garden room or orangery for your home, you may find our guide for selecting furniture pieces of interest: Unique furniture pieces for your garden room.

With so many amazing designs, it can be impossible to pick. Here, we share the enticing new pieces coming up over the next month or so, some of which are not even listed on the website yet – be the first to see them!

Calvin Armchair

A modern armchair is the easiest way to make a change when you feel like a room needs a refresh. Relax in style in the ergonomic comfort of Atkin & Thyme’s iconic Calvin chair, which has just been released in Moroccan Printed Cotton, and Mint Velvet and Linen. The chic wooden handles have a curved design, while the contoured legs are both sturdy and stylish. This mid-century style design is ideal for defining cosy reading corners or seating areas in larger, open-plan living spaces.

Botero Sideboard

A staple of Seventies interiors, the sideboard usually holds a prominent position within a room, making it the ideal for displaying beautiful home accessories. The new Botero Sideboard has a sleek design that suits both classic and contemporary homes, made from wood with slim brass legs and marble top. It offers plenty of closed-door storage, so there is space for everything you need for the living area, dining room or open-plan orangery. Coming soon – not available on the website yet.

Emmeline Armchair

The Art Deco style of this cane and olive velvet Emmeline Armchair works particularly well, with its plump cushions, curved arms, and contrasting fabrics. Pairing chic textures with richly coloured materials give this piece an eclectic feel. Try teaming with vibrant, rich colours and patterns for a maximalist look.
