What is a ’Best of Houzz Award?’

The annual Best of Houzz awards recognise the top-rated home pros and most popular designs on Houzz by category and area across the country and around the world. Professionals who have won a Best of Houzz award will have a special badge on their profile.

There are millions of active home professionals on Houzz and just over 3% of these win an award. This means the winning photos were often saved to ideabooks thousands or even tens of thousands of times. In other words, these pros and designs have really impressed the Houzz community.

Award Winning Westbury Spaces

Winning the Best of Houzz Design Award for ten years in a row is no small feat. It speaks volumes about our ability to consistently deliver exceptional design solutions that resonate with clients and industry professionals alike. Take a look at some of our favourite projects which have won over the last 10 years.

Fuchsia House Orangery wins Best of Houzz Design Award in 2024

Our Fushcia House project is the winner of a ‘Best of Houzz’ Design Award for 2024. This project is a stunning example of how a living space can be modernised with the addition of a Westbury orangery. The orangery is set at the foot of a solid stone staircase in a previously unused part of the garden.

With the ability to open up the orangery on both sides, with bifold doors leading out onto the large patio area, the space provides ample room for entertaining on balmy summer evenings. It provides a seamless transition between inside and out and the perfect light and bright space for the homeowners to enjoy.

Suffolk House Garden Room wins Best of Houzz Design award in 2023

In 2023 our Suffolk House Garden Room project won a best of Houzz design award in the conservatory sector. This stunning timber garden room features a large, glazed gable enabling the room to be flooded with natural light. As a listed building, careful consideration was needed to ensure that the design of the new garden room was in keeping with the original architecture.

The room was meticulously designed with a steep-pitched tiled roof to mimic the existing characteristics of the adjoining building, adding to the original beauty of the old timber framed house. This new garden room is now the heart of the family home and regularly used for relaxing and entertaining.

Bridgewater House Orangery wins Best of Houzz Design award in 2022

Back in 2022 our project Bridgewater House Orangery was the winner of the Best of Houzz Design award for its spacious and stylish dining area. This stunning orangery design fulfils the wish list of many of our customers providing generous dining, seating, and entertaining zones within one luxurious space.

The sense of light, height and volume is enhanced by the centrally placed lantern. A beautifully relaxed feeling is brought together with the homeowner’s addition of colour and texture in their stylish soft furnishings and window dressing.

Luxury Wine Room Best of Houzz Design award in 2021

In 2021 our iconic wine room project won a Best of Houzz Design Award. Our clients for this project were keen wine connoisseurs and therefore wanted to make wine a feature of their orangery project. An initial idea was to have a ‘wine wall’ where the homeowner could showcase their collection. However, after invaluable input from our team we saw the potential to create a slighter larger extension allowing for the installation of a custom-built space to house their assortment.

Homeowner Mrs M said: “It was this alternative point of view that was invaluable; Westbury helped us to think outside the box and the wine room became an integral and exciting part of the build for us.”

wine storage advice

The adjoining twin lantern orangery houses a formal dining area with easy access to the new wine store, complete with bespoke cupboards, racks and worktops. The room, approximately 3m x 2m can store up to 500 bottles of wine and is big enough to fit two people inside. It also includes a wine fridge and a sink to wash up glasses as well as a clever fan system that ensures the room stays cool in the summer months and doesn’t get too cold in the winter. The sealed door ensures the temperature remains consistent but also means that the room is very low maintenance and hardly ever gets dusty.

What sets Westbury Garden Rooms apart from the competition?

From your initial design consultation to the final installation, our team strives for perfection, ensuring that each project exceeds client expectations. We work closely with clients, their architects, and interiors designers to bring the homeowners vision to life. We incorporate cutting-edge design and techniques to create spaces that are both timeless and contemporary.

We pride ourselves on attention to detail. Every element, from the choice of materials to the finishing touches, is meticulously curated to ensure the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Our Orangeries and Garden Rooms are beautifully crafted form Accoya wood. Accoya is a revolutionary wood created from only fast-growing and copiously available FSC® or PEFC™ certified tree species such as Radiata pine.

The pine used to make Accoya goes through a (non-toxic, environmentally friendly) chemical process, called acetylation, which makes it a super-strength version of its original form – more durable and more stable. The acetylation process also improves its paint retention and in-ground performance. Accoya is just about as durable as wood can be and is rated as a Class 1 timber.
