The appointment of three new designers over the past year has been an unmissable opportunity according to the MD:
“Welcoming new designers to the family business has naturally brought new perspectives to the drawing board, putting a fresh focus on architecture and bringing further refinement and finesse to our bespoke builds. I have long admired the garden buildings built by companies like Marston & Langinger and Town & Country and have looked to them for inspiration over the decades. In recent times both have disappeared from the industry which I have been genuinely saddened to see, but I have also seen it as a golden opportunity for Westbury to take on some great talent.
“Sharon O Callaghan (previously M&L) and Mark Jones (T & C) were the first to make the move, and Alex Cole, a designer from an existing competitor, has now completed the line up in our ‘super group’. Between us we have 95 years of experience designing and building garden rooms and we can pass all of that shared expertise on to our customers.
“All of our designers have a timeless style and ethical approach but very different experiences and knowledge gained over several decades in the industry. We’ve been able to put our heads together, learn from each other, and introduce new elements to our designs.
“Over the years Westbury has pushed ahead of the competition in terms of product quality, robustness and technical performance. Our designs have always been classic and distinctive but we have perhaps become better known for our semi-glazed buildings.
“With our new designers we have been able to combine those existing attributes with lighter, fresher design styles perhaps more associated with companies like Marston & Langinger.
“We have worked hard to build our reputation for quality and innovation over the years, and our pioneering approach folds state-of-the-art technologies into our existing standards of top-drawer traditional craftsmanship. So it’s only natural for us to seize an opportunity such as this to look at our design capabilities too, making sure we are still offering what we consider to be the best garden room on the market, and delivering the type of high end, efficiently produced, sustainable and beautiful products for which we’ve become known.
“Now more than ever, we have the expertise to design and build a garden room to suit any shape, size, or style. Be it a simple side return orangery on a city terrace, a large-multi-stage commercial project, or a more extravagant conservatory on a country mansion, our buildings are created to suit both the architecture of the building and the lifestyle and requirements of the client.
“Our steady growth, despite some unprecedented changes within the garden architecture industry, is testimony to our success and our desire to stay ahead of the game.”
