The full
project process

Here is a brief guide to the process following approval of your quotation:

1. Final Survey

Our own surveyor will visit your home to take a series of precise interior and exterior measurements.

2. Gaining Planning Permission

We then create 'Planning Drawings' to be used to gain planning consent on your building, if necessary. You will not have to be involved in this process, we can do it all on your behalf!

3. Working Drawings

Using the details and measurements, our experienced CAD technicians draw your project to scale. By setting out these drawings clearly and accurately, we can be sure that every aspect of the project is understood by the entire team, including the bricklayers, joiners and you the client! These drawings can also be used by your own builders should you choose to use them.

4. Scheduling

Once planning permission has been obtained, your assigned Project Manager will send you a schedule showing the work timetable from our proposed start date. Dates are agreed by both parties.

5. Building Foundations

Work will begin on the date provided by your Project Manager, when our construction team will arrive and dig the foundations. If necessary, they will adjust the drains and lay rainwater soakaways. Bricklayers will deal with any masonry work required.

6. Joinery

Meanwhile, all structural frames, windows and doors will be planned and manufactured by our experienced craftsmen at the Westbury Joinery.

All the timber components will be assembled at the workshop, after which the finished measurements are checked and two coats of paint applied. Glazing is added at the end of this process.

7. Construction

As our bricklayers finish, the timber sections will be delivered to your site. Our fitting team will then construct the timber and steel structural frame, build the roof, insulate, and install timber windows and hardwood doors.

At this point, first fix electrics are completed.

If it is part of your plan to remove existing walls, our builders will return to site and ‘knock through’ with minimal fuss and debris. As the main structure including roofing is completed, your property will be both secured and protected from the elements.

8. Finishing Touches

Once we have completed the main structure and achieved a water-tight sealed building, we will finish plastering and carry out second fix electrics. If required, plumbing for under floor heating will be laid prior to the screed floor being applied. Then your chosen flooring can be laid. A final coat of paint will be applied onsite to ensure a clean finish.

9. Sign Off

Finally, when both parties are completely satisfied with every facet of the building, your finished project will be signed off and a Certificate of Warranty and Westbury Care Pack will be issued by your Project Manager.

10. And finally...

Add your furniture, put your feet up, and enjoy the endless benefits of this beautiful new feature.
