Here is a brief guide to the process order following approval of the quotation:
Our own surveyor will visit your home to take a series of precise measurements. This will include exterior and interior measurements.
When 'Planning Drawings' are complete they will be used to gain planning permission on your building. You will not have to be involved in this process...we do it all on your behalf!
With the measurements our dedicated technicians draw each and every project to a large scale to ensure all details are correct from the start. By setting out our drawings clearly and accurately, we can be sure that every aspect of the project is understood by the entire team, including the bricklayers, the joiners and the client!
Once planning permission has been obtained, we will send you a schedule showing the work sequence from our proposed start date.
Work will begin on the day provided, when Westbury staff (not subcontractors) will arrive and dig the foundations. If necessary, they will adjust the drains and lay rainwater soakaways.
Our own bricklayers will deal with any masonry required, whilst plans of first fix electrics are organised.
Meanwhile your frames, windows and doors will be planned and manufactured by our own experienced craftsman at the Westbury joinery.
They will assemble all the timber components, check the finished measurements and apply two coats of paint. Glazing is added at the end of this process.
As our bricklayers finish the wall, the timber sections will be delivered to your site. Our fitting team will then construct the timber frame, and fit the roof, timber windows and hardwood doors.
If it is part of your plan to remove existing walls our builders will return to site and ‘knock through’ with the minimal fuss and mess. As the main structure including roofing is completed your property will be both secured and protected from the elements.
Once we have completed the main structure and achieved a water-tight sealed building, we will complete second fix electrics and plaster. If required plumbing for under floor heating will be laid. Finally your chosen flooring can be laid. A final coat of paint will be applied onsite to ensure a crisp finish. Ironmongery will be the final installation.
Finally, when we are completely satisfied with every component of the building, your finished project will be signed off and a certificate of warranty will be issued.
Add your furniture, put your feet up, and enjoy the endless benefits of the beautiful addition to your home.
